Kitchen display & station printing

The kitchen does not go blind in an outage — the ticket prints straight from the till

The offline story for selling was already the strongest in the market, but the kitchen went blind without internet: the display polls the server, and there was no client-side kitchen printing at all. This closes that gap end to end — and puts Wameed among only three systems that do it.

From the Professional plan up

What this covers

  • A printer profile per station (grill, bar, fryer…) over LAN, Bluetooth or serial, with copies, character width and auto-print flags
  • Kitchen tickets print when the sale completes — the basket is grouped by station and an ESC/POS ticket is rendered per station, with a large order number, the order type, items with quantities, modifiers and notes, and Arabic lines
  • Printing goes through the existing retry-and-backoff print queue — with no cloud involved
  • A local ticket store — every ticket persists first into a small dedicated database, so a dead printer, a sleeping display or a missing uplink can no longer lose a ticket
  • Offline-to-server replay — queued tickets post on connectivity regain and on a periodic timer, to an idempotent endpoint
  • A LAN mode — the display device runs a small listener and the till pushes new tickets straight to it, token-authenticated, with the local database as the fallback
  • An expo screen — aggregates every station’s ticket per order; when all stations bump, the order flags ready to pass
  • A three-source merge — the board merges the server poll, realtime events and local or LAN tickets, deduplicated, with a LOCAL banner on unconfirmed tickets
  • Product-to-station mapping is managed by per-station categories, rather than derived from keywords
  • Course firing in sequence — appetiser, then main, then dessert
