ZATCA Phase 2 · Offline selling · Built for Saudi retail

The till that keeps selling when the internet stops

Wameed is a complete point of sale for Saudi retail and restaurants: it sells, signs the ZATCA invoice and prints it while offline, then syncs everything the moment the network returns. From the till to the kitchen to the books.

Why we build this

What actually breaks a till in Saudi Arabia

It is not the missing features. It is the moment a queue stops because something outside the shop went down.

Without Wameed

  • The line drops, the till stops — or prints a non-compliant slip you fix up later
  • A tablet per delivery platform stacked on the counter, and an order lost every day
  • A cash variance found a week later, when nobody remembers anything
  • A half-translated Arabic interface, where the cashier memorises button positions instead of reading them
  • Invoice data re-keyed by hand into the accounting system at month end
  • The kitchen goes blind in an outage, and orders get shouted across the pass
The foundation

Four things we will not compromise

Everything else on this site is built on these four.

An outage is not an excuse

Selling, signing, printing, opening the drawer and kitchen tickets all work with no network. The outbound queue is the truth until the server acknowledges it, so a sale is never lost. Even the web cashier works offline.

Compliance is not an add-on

ZATCA Phase 2 is in the core: UBL 2.1, XAdES-BES signing on the device, the nine-tag QR, an unbroken hash chain, clearance and reporting. Not a module you buy later.

Arabic is the first language

Genuine right-to-left layout, a bilingual receipt, numbers, dates and currency formatted correctly — plus Urdu, Bengali and Pashto for the staff who actually stand at the till.

Your money goes to you

Your customers’ payments settle into your own merchant account through EdfaPay. Wameed never takes custody of your funds and is not a payment institution — its income is the revenue share alone.

The real difference

Cut the line. Keep selling.

Most systems say they work offline and mean they save the sale to send later. Here is what actually happens in Wameed when the line drops.

  1. 1

    The network drops

The status bar appears. Nothing else on the screen changes.

  2. 2

    The cashier keeps scanning

The catalogue, prices and promotions are all on the device. Even the discounts run through the same engine.

  3. 3

    The invoice is signed locally

The private key is in the OS secure store. A simplified invoice is signed inside the legal 24-hour tolerance.

  4. 4

    The receipt prints in full

With the nine-tag QR. It is a legal invoice, not a placeholder slip.

  5. 5

The network returns and the queue drains

Transactions first, then stock, then the catalogue. Each row is acknowledged before it is cleared.

How it starts

From signing up to your first invoice

Four steps. The longest one is not ours — it is registering your device with ZATCA.

  1. Pick your trade

Grocery, restaurant, pharmacy, jewellery, bakery, florist, phone shop… the till arrives with your trade’s categories, tax rates, receipt templates and workflows already set.

  2. Load your products

Import from Excel or CSV, or start from a ready catalogue for your trade and edit it. A missing barcode is generated for you, and its labels print from the same screen.

  3. Register with ZATCA

We produce the certificate request, handle the provisioning and put the key in the operating system’s secure store. After that, every invoice is signed on the device itself — connected or not.

  4. Start selling

The first sale produces a signed invoice with its QR code. With no network, it comes out exactly the same — and is reported when the network returns.

Plainly

How we actually compare

Including the rows we do not win. A comparison that always wins is not a comparison.

Wameed’s own verdicts come from a review of the codebase. The competitor marks are best-effort from their published documentation as of August 2026, and may have changed since.

The questions that reach us first

And if yours is not here, our team answers it directly.

  • Wameed is a complete point-of-sale system for Saudi retail and restaurants. It handles selling, inventory, purchasing, staff, customers, reporting and ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing — and it keeps working for 24 hours when the internet is down, signing compliant invoices on the device.
