Selling

Offline mode & sync

The queue is the truth until it is acknowledged — no sale is lost in an outage

The system runs fully offline: local changes are queued durably and replayed when connectivity returns, while cloud changes — from the dashboard, from another register — stream down. The outbound queue is the source of truth until the server acknowledges it, which is what makes a lost sale structurally impossible rather than merely unlikely.

What this covers

  • Every core operation works with no internet — selling, printing, opening the drawer, signing
  • Bidirectional sync: a cursor-paged pull, and a per-record acknowledged push
  • A durable sync queue, priority-ordered, with retry tracking
  • Conflict resolution — automatic for non-critical data, manual for anything financial or stock-related
  • Delta sync with a per-table cursor; a full sync on first run or after a reset
  • Realtime push over SSE, with pull compensation for anything missed
  • A persistent status bar, with a slide-out details panel
  • A 30-second heartbeat carrying a backup-health report and a push of small changes
  • Data priority: transactions → inventory → catalogue → customers → settings

Of the ten systems we compare against, three offer a genuine offline mode — and Wameed is the only one whose web cashier works offline too.
