Foodics alternatives in Saudi Arabia: six real options

People look for a Foodics alternative for three reasons: price, iOS lock-in, or a feature it does not have. Each reason points at a different replacement. Here they are, matched to the reason.

Before you shortlist a replacement, name the reason. The three reasons people give us for leaving Foodics point at three different products, and choosing by brand rather than by reason is how merchants end up switching twice.

Audit date: August 2026. Competitor rows are researched from public sources.

Reason 1: the bill

Foodics lists at SAR 392–423 at entry, SAR 742–801 mid, SAR 1,133–1,224 top.

Closest replacement with comparable hospitality features: Wameed — SAR 200 / 349 / 699, with floor plan, zones and timers, kitchen display with station routing and course firing, split checks by item, ten delivery aggregator integrations, and full offline with on-device ZATCA signing.

Cheaper still, with less: Marn (~SAR 149) or the payments-fundedGeidea andHala — but check the feature gaps first, because Marn has no table management, no KDS and no split checks, and Hala has neither inventory nor a customer module.

Reason 2: iOS lock-in

Foodics runs on iOS. If your objection is that your replacement cycle and repair options are set by one hardware line:

Wameed — Android including the Landi C20 Pro with an integrated mada reader, Windows, macOS, the browser, and rugged Zebra/Honeywell PDAs. Any laptop becomes a till in five minutes.

Odoo — also hardware-agnostic, but it is an ERP suite with a POS module rather than a dedicated point of sale, and our audit marks it as not offline-capable.

Avoid, if hardware freedom is the reason: Marn (Sunmi), Revel (bring-your-own iPad — a different lock, not no lock), Geidea and Hala (their own devices).

Reason 3: a feature Foodics does not have

Per the audit, Foodics doesnot have: reservations or waitlists, a marketing module, drive-thru, labour management, human capital management, supply chain, industry vertical modes, or cashier languages beyond Arabic and English.

Matched replacements:

  • Supply chain (purchase orders, goods receipt, transfers, multi-warehouse, supplier returns):Wameed, Rewaa, Odoo, NCR, Oracle
  • Labour management and HCM:Wameed, Odoo, Oracle
  • Industry modes (pharmacy, jewellery, electronics, florist, bakery):Wameed, Odoo
  • Cashier languages in Urdu, Bengali, Pashto:Wameed, Odoo
  • Drive-thru: NCR, Oracle, Sapaad
  • Reservations and waitlists: NCR, Oracle, Odoo

What you give up when you leave Foodics

Be clear-eyed about it. Foodics has:

  • An extensive third-party app marketplace
  • Multi-brand management
  • Self-service kiosks
  • White-label online ordering
  • Delivery zones and own-fleet dispatch

Wameed has none of those five. Rewaa, Marn, Revel, Odoo, Sapaad and Hala have few or none either. If any of them is load-bearing in your operation, the honest advice is to stay.

A migration checklist

  1. Export everything from Foodicsbefore you cancel — products, modifiers, customers, sales history, invoices
  2. Confirm the new system can import that format; do it as a test with real data
  3. Re-onboard ZATCA: a new POS means new device credentials with the authority
  4. Reconnect each aggregator individually and test one live order per platform
  5. Run both systems in parallel for one week on one branch
  6. Switch the busiest branch last, not first

The shortest version

Leaving for cost or hardware freedom, with hospitality features intact →Wameed. Leaving for retail inventory depth →Rewaa orWameed. Leaving for enterprise breadth →NCR orOracle. Leaving because you need kiosks or multi-brand → you are already in the right place.
