The best POS systems in Saudi Arabia (2026): eleven compared

Most "best POS in Saudi Arabia" lists are written by whoever is selling. This one is too — we make Wameed. So rather than ask you to trust the ranking, here is the method, the date, and the rows where we come second.

Method: a feature audit carried out in August 2026 across eleven systems sold in the Kingdom. Competitor rows come from public documentation, pricing pages and demos, and are best-effort rather than vendor-confirmed. Wameed's rows come from an audit of our own source code. Pricing marked with an asterisk is a third-party figure.

The eleven

Wameed, Foodics, NCR Aloha, Oracle Simphony, Rewaa, Marn, Revel, Geidea, Odoo, Sapaad, Hala.

Best overall for a Saudi restaurant with seating

Foodics, if budget is not the constraint and you want kiosks, multi-brand and a large app marketplace.Wameed, if you want the same table management, kitchen display and split checks at roughly a third of the monthly cost, plus offline signing.

Best for retail with real stock

Rewaa andWameed. Rewaa is retail-first with a strong inventory reputation and a free-device-on-contract model. Wameed matches the inventory depth, adds supply chain, industry modes and offline signing, and does not tie the hardware to the contract.

Best for large multi-site operations

Oracle Simphony orNCR Aloha. Both are quote-only, both need an implementation partner, and both carry rows — drive-thru, kiosks, multi-brand, native payroll — that no lighter system in this list has. If you run twenty or more sites with a central commissary, this is where you should be looking, and we would say so in a sales meeting.

Best when the internet is unreliable

Wameed, thenFoodics andRevel. On the August 2026 audit these are the only three marked offline-capable. Wameed is the only one that signs the ZATCA invoice on the device in the browser cashier as well as the native app, and keeps doing it for 24 hours.

Markednot offline-capable: NCR, Oracle, Rewaa, Marn, Geidea, Odoo, Sapaad, Hala. Verify with each vendor — this is the single most valuable question in a demo.

Cheapest fixed cost

Hala andGeidea — both waive the software fee above a card-sales threshold and earn on processing.Odoo starts at one free app.Wameed starts at SAR 200 a month.Marn is around SAR 149.*

Cheapest fixed cost is not cheapest total cost. Run the arithmetic in ourGeidea comparison; a payments-funded model is cheaper for card-heavy shops and more expensive for cash-heavy ones.

Most hardware freedom

Wameed andOdoo — both hardware-agnostic. Wameed runs on Android including the Landi C20 Pro, Windows, macOS, the browser and rugged PDAs.

Locked or narrow: Foodics (iOS), Marn (Sunmi), Revel (bring-your-own iPad), Geidea and Hala (their own Android devices).

Monthly price benchmark

SystemEntry (SAR/month)
Hala0–75, fee waived above ~15k sales
Geidea0–115, fee waived above ~15k sales
Odoo0 for one app, then ~51 per user
Wameed200
Marn~149*
Rewaa247–275 (annual prepay)
Revel~371*
Sapaad~371–484 (USD-billed)

Where Wameed is not the answer

We would rather publish this than have you find it later. Wameed doesnot have: a self-service kiosk, a drive-thru module, multi-brand management, own-fleet delivery dispatch, delivery zones, an offline kitchen display, a waitlist, a white-label online ordering site, a native general ledger or payroll, or an extensive third-party marketplace.

If two or more of those are essential to your concept, buy something else. Foodics, NCR or Oracle will serve you better and you will be happier.

What actually decides it

After several hundred of these conversations, the decision almost always comes down to four questions:

  1. What happens when the internet drops? Test it, do not ask about it.
  2. What am I paying in year three? Including hardware replacement and payment processing.
  3. Can I leave? Get the data export format in writing before you sign.
  4. Will my slowest cashier be fast on it? Twenty minutes, no training, watch what they do.
